World Population Day.

  • Commemorates the estimated date the world population reached 5 billion in 1987.
  • Established by Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme in 1989.
  • A day to raise awareness of overpopulation and related issues.

National Cheer Up The Lonely Day.

  • Created by and birthday of Francis Pesek of Detroit, Michigan.

National Blueberry Muffin Day.

  • A food appreciation day for Blueberry Muffins.

Bowdler's Day.

  • The birthday of Thomas Bowdler who released an edited family-friendly version of Shakespeare.
  • A day to celebrate free speech.

National Mojito Day.

  • An appreciation day for the Mojito cocktail.
